The showbiz industry has been abuzz with speculation about Beyonce Knowles and her husband Jay-Zs baby ever since her pregnancy was announced at the recent Music Awards.
Bookmakers began opening markets on the sex of the baby and the baby’s name a short while after the announcement was made.
At present the favorite names are Matthew and Shawn or Shawna at 4/1, Corey at 5/1 and Collek at 6/1 with outsider choices Grammy and Ga-ga at 200/1 and Lay Z at 250/1.
Odds on the baby’s sex are the same at 5/6 on male and female with betting sites paying out 33/1 if Beyonce gives birth to twins and triplets earning bettors 100/1.
This week saw two new markets opening as to who the baby’s godfather and godmother will be.
Kayne West, the Louis Vuitton Don, is reported to be very keen to be the child’s godfather.
Kayne is telling friends that he is over the moon at the thought of being godfather and he is, therefore, a definite favorite at the betting markets with odds of 1/3.
Bookmakers feel that Beyonce will play it safe by choosing her sister Solange Piaget Knowles to be the baby’s godmother and the odds that she will be named stands at 1/5 with Gwyneth Paltrow at 5/4 and Kelly Rowland and Rihanna at 5/1.
