The game of blackjack always begins in exactly the same way. After you place your initial bet, the dealer will deal you two cards. The dealer also deals themselves two cards, one of which is face up, while the other is face down. The goal of blackjack is to beat the dealer's hand. This is done by getting closer to twenty-one than the dealer, without going over twenty-one. If your hand goes over twenty-one, it is called busting. Once the dealer has dealt you your initial two cards, you have a decision to make. The two most common options are to hit or stay. If you hit, the dealer will deal you another card. If you stay, you won't receive any additional cards. Although not quite as common, you can also choose to double down (double your bet and get dealt one more card) or split (if your cards are the same number, you can double your bet and split both cards into two separate hands). Although there are a lot of small details that may make the game of blackjack seem confusing to a beginner, the easiest way to figure things out for yourself is simply to start playing. Because online blackjack allows you to play with privacy, you can learn the ins and outs of the game without any feelings of embarrassment. |
