Norway’s second largest political party, the Progress Party has said that should it be voted into power in next year’s elections it would bring an end to the state monopoly on gambling.

The Malta-licensed gambling operator, Unibet, has decided to pick Microgaming’s award winning suite of casino games to power its casino platform, after searching for a suitable solution. This is not the first arrangement that Unibet has with Microgaming. The company has been working off Microgaming’s successful poker network for over two years.

The U.K. Gambling Commission surveyed 8,000 adults and published its 2008 report. The main finding was that the incidence of remote gaming has remained unchanged since last year. 8.8% of the respondents said that they had engaged in at least one form of remote gaming in the previous month.
