Party Gaming Cuts Jobs
Thursday, 11 September 2008

According to a report in the Gibraltar Chronicle this week, a Party Gaming spokesman has said that the company would be letting go about 100 employees.

Party Gaming cited difficult market conditions and unfair competition in the industry as the reason why it was forced to take these drastic steps. The company reiterated that it would always remain loyal to Gibraltar and promised to re-open some jobs when conditions improved.

Party Gaming has been struggling to regain some of its former market position since the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act caused the company to lose a huge portion of its client base. While Party Gaming cannot operate in the US market, it has come out against rival sites that have managed to re-enter this market without any threat of prosecution by the US Justice Department.
