When to defend your blind 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Here's a good article which can really be helpful to other poker players. There are two schools of thought on defending your blind:

1. Defend your blind liberally. I call this the machine gun approach.
2. Only defend your blind with quality hands. I call this the sniper approach

sometimes it is not worth to go on after paying the blind, sometimes it's just better to leave the table..

Sometimes I see many players stupidly defending their small blinds and raising with garbage cards trying to steal the big blind. Generally I simply fold when on the small blind.

yeah, I see many people doing that but I do the same as you, sometimes it's just not worth going for the flop

I admit that I went on foolishly with small blinds and got ended up burning my finger. Now, I get out if sure not to defend the small blind.

yeah, when I started to play poker I would always go at least until the flop but now I quit on the blind when I see my hand is not worth it..

The possibility to hit 2 pairs on the flop isn't worth the raise if it's too big and the pot odds aren't in your favor.
