The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) has announced that it has suspended Full Tilt’s license and shut down its entire international poker operation as from Wednesday, 29th June, 2011.

The decision taken to suspend the licenses was made following a special investigation prompted by the indictments that was established by the US Attorney General’s Office in the Southern District of New York on April 15, 2011.  The investigation showed that there were enough grounds to have Full Tilt’s license suspended.

According to the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, Full Tilt Poker is being forced to stop registering new customers, cease to accept deposits from its existing customers, disallow the withdrawal of funds from existing customers that are held in their account and stop permitting customers to take part in any form of poker game play or gambling transaction.

There is at present a note on Full Tilt Poker’s site that says “Scheduled Maintenance in progress – The system is currently down for maintenance.  Please check back soon”

Andre Wilsenach, the Executive Director of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission said that it was in the “public’s interest” to suspend the egambling license of Full Tilt Poker and that it was necessary to take immediate action because of the seriousness of the matter.
