Microgaming is the latest software company to join the Italian poker industry by launching a brand new network. As such, Ladbrokes is the first poker room to join the Italian language network, with the hope of gaining a good segment of the fast growing market.
“The launch of Microgaming’s Italian Poker Network is another example of Microgaming bringing the highest global standards to local markets,” said Roger Raatgever, the Chief Operating Officer of Microgaming. “We have worked tirelessly to ensure that the new poker network is fit for purpose to meet the needs of the Italian player-base, as well as the Italian regulatory standards.”
The new network offers players access to Microgaming’s tournament games, with a view to providing a wider range when Italian’s gambling laws become less stringent.
Microgaming is currently negotiating with other operators to have them join the network as well.
“Microgaming has a proven track record in poker as it hosts the most established poker network,” said Mattia Nicelli, the Chief Executive Officer of Ladbrokes Italia. “Our decision to join its Italian Network is a strategic move that we believe will be of great benefit to our players.”
Nicelli said that Microgaming has adapted its services in a way that caters to Ladbrokes’ specific needs as the group competes in the Italian market.
