The popular online poker room, PokerStars, has signed on the Swedish professional player William Thorson to play exclusively for them. PokerStars said that they were thrilled to have the number one Swedish player in their Ranks. They added that Thorson has had great successes in the past and even greater successes are expected of him in the future. 

Thorson has amassed almost $2 million in lifetime tournament earnings. He has consistently performed well on the European Poker Tour. In the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event he finished 13th. This deal comes into effect immediately and Thorson will be representing PokerStars at the WSOP 2008 Main Event. He will also regularly play for PokerStars in European events and online at PokerStars.com.

On his part Thorson said that he was proud that his talent was recognized and that he was honored to be included in Team PokerStars. Team PokerStars has on board luminaries such as Chris Moneymaker, Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Rousso, Katja Thater and Barry Greenstein.
