Last Sunday both tournaments at PokerStars topped the $1 million mark in prize pools. The Sunday Million fielded over 8,000 players making the prize pool cross $1.6 Million. The Sunday Warm Up also topped the $1.1 million mark because of the 1,500 rebuys that are currently being allowed under a promotional scheme.
In the Sunday Million it took nine and a half hours for the field to be whittled down to the final table of nine. The players were evenly balanced and the eliminations took some time in coming. But once they did things moved quickly and eventually Avkid86 and strahh25 were left in the heads up play. It took 12 hands for Avkid86 to emerge triumphant.
In the Sunday Warm Up guaranteed $1 million tournament players eliminated in the first two hours are given the option to rebuy under the current promotional scheme. Over 1,500 players did that taking the pool above the guaranteed level. Going into the heads up Showm4n led substantially on chip count over richlizard, but ultimately had to settle for second place.
