PokerStars offers huge Guaranteed Prize online tournaments at its internet poker room every Sunday. Of late the collection through buy-ins has been falling just short of the guaranteed amount and the poker room has had to chip in. The same thing happened this Sunday.
The PokerStars Sunday Million now offers a guaranteed prize pool of $1,500,000. This Sunday it drew 7,445 entries. There were entrants through satellites and therefore despite the $215 buy-in the prize pool fell short of the guaranteed amount. douglas12 went into the heads up with Crackpfeife with a healthy chip lead and finished the tournament in just one deal. douglas12 ended up with $125,478 as first prize.
However there was greater interest in the Sunday 500, a $500,000 guaranteed prize tournament with a $500 buy-in. Annette Obrestad was competing in her online avatar of Annette_15 hoping to make a big cash. She had to settle for fourth place with $37,687 as her share of the prize pool.
