The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) held its inaugural event in London in 2007. Now WSOPE has announced the schedule for September 2008 and has made a welcome departure from last year.

In 2007 the event took place at the Empire, Sportsman and Fifty casinos, all belonging to the London Clubs International. This led to a fair bit of confusion as to what was happening where and when. The grapevine had it that in 2008 the number of venues would be increased to five. However wiser sense seems to have prevailed and all four bracelet events will be held at the Empire Casino in Leicester Square. Cash games will be in progress round the clock at the other two London Clubs International casinos.

The number of events has also been increased from three to four. WSPOE 2008 will begin with the new tournament, £1,500 No Limit Hold’em, on September 19. The tournaments that were played last year would follow ending with the Main Event on October 2.
