Day 5 of WSOP Main Event

The final table is not far off in the WSOP 2008 Main Event of $10,000 No Limit Hold’em. At the end of Day 5 there were less than 80 contestants left in the fray. Leading the pack was Mark Ketteringham with a chip count of almost 6 million. The remaining nine of the top ten were placed with chip counts between the 3 million and 4 million mark.

Erick LindgrenWith only the Main Event to be decided, which does not count for the Player of the year, the race is over. Erick Lindgren has been crowned Player of the Year at WSOP 2008. The top five in decreasing order are Erick Lindgren, Barry Greenstein, Jacobo Fernandez, John “Razor” Phan and David Benyamine.

Harrah’s Becomes Environment Friendly

WSOP runs for seven weeks and for long hours each day. That is a lot of electricity consumption. Most of the electricity is still produced from fossil fuels, which cause extensive damage to the environment. In order to compensate for that damage Harrah’s, the owners of the WSOP, have purchased carbon offsets from NativeEnergy.
