World Series of Poker in 1997 was the only WSOP where the main event was held outdoors - outside of the Binion's Horseshoe Casino. This tournamnet is also famous for the comeback of Stu Ungar who won main event in 1981. In WSOP main event there were 312 entrants - with $10,000 buy-in. The final hand was played between Stu Ungar vs John Strzemp. Stu Ungar got A♥ 4♣ and his opponent, John Strzemp received very similar hand with A♠ 8♣. Ungar raised his pre-flop to $40.000, Strzemp called.
The turn came with 3♦, which meant that Ungar had only 7 outs out of 20 in the deck for a split pot.
