The WSOP $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event began on July 6. There were 6,358 players entered, 2,415 fewer than in 2006. This was the first time since 1992 that main event experienced reduction in participants.
WSOP 2007 fianl hand was played between Tuan Lam and Jerry Yang. Lam received A♦Q♦ and Yang had 8♣8♦. Lam moved all-in after 2.3M raise from Yang. Yang called the additional 22.2m. The flop brought Q♣, 9♣, 5♠. The river 7♦ brought more outs for Yang to make a straight. The river 6♥ gave Yang nine-high straight and the WSOP Main Event championship plus $8,250,000 prize.
